Dear Members of Mandaara, NEKK,
Sub: Mandaara, NEKK President’s award 2021
The Mandaara, NEKK Rajendra Rao President’s Award is the most prestigious award given by Mandaara, New England Kannada Koota to the most talented and deserving student in our community. We are inviting ‘Rising Seniors’ in high school to apply for the award.
What does the award stand for:
NEKK President’s award recognizes students that show outstanding educational growth and demonstrate achievement in extracurricular activities such as arts and sports while contributing to the excellence of the NEKK community.
Selection process:
An exclusive five-member judges panel is created annually for reviewing the applications. All applicant information will be held confidential and will not be distributed or shared outside of the judges’ panel.
Why you should apply:
The award application submission deadline of August 31st helps you get organized for the busy college and scholarship application season. The winner will be awarded $500.
Who can apply:
A student can nominate himself/herself through the application process. Parents or Friends/Relatives of a student can also nominate the student for the award. Each application should follow the guidelines below and send all the required/supporting documents. Applicants should be a NEKK member.
Guidelines for application:
Only High School ‘Rising Seniors’ are eligible to apply.
Deadline to submit the applications: August 31, 2021.
Please note: Applications will not be accepted after the deadline.

Each application should be accompanied by two essays of one page (minimum 250 words) each explaining

Why should you be the recipient of the Mandaara, NEKK Presidential Award?

Discuss how you achieved one accomplishment that shaped you today.

Include copies of certificates for extra-curricular activities

Include documentation of volunteer/community service work

Documents may be: a certificate, a letter by an authorized official from an organization

Standardized test scores (PSAT/SAT/ACT/AP Exams as applicable)

Class ranking at school and other organizations (ranking of the student)

Any other relevant information and recognitions that the student wishes to be considered.
